Sleep, colds and the things people put up with
The everyday complaints people delay bringing in, and how follow up visits work once they do.
Some complaints never feel serious enough to make an appointment for. Broken sleep, colds that keep returning, a cough that stays on for weeks after everything else has settled. They get lived with for years.
Why they are worth mentioning
A complaint does not have to be dramatic to be worth taking a history of. Sleep that has been poor for a long time, or a run of colds through the year, both have a course and a pattern like anything else.
People often mention these at the end of a visit, almost as an afterthought. They are better said at the start.
How follow up visits work
After the first consultation, visits are usually 10 to 20 days apart and are shorter. Each one goes over what has changed since the last, in what order, and what has not.
Anything you noted down between visits is useful, particularly for complaints that come in episodes.

How the visit works
A first consultation takes between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on how much history there is to go through. Follow up visits are shorter and are usually 10 to 20 days apart. The consultation fee is Rs 600. Appointments are arranged by phone or on WhatsApp during clinic hours; there is no online booking.
If something has been going on quietly for a long time, it can be brought up at any visit.
